Our History

Family Tradition

It has been a longtime Baumann family tradition to vacation at Ocean City New Jersey. Our dad, Michael, can’t remember a summer without a week with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and siblings at the Jersey shore. Our grandparents, Johanna and John Baumann, rented homes throughout the town for many years always dreaming of having a beach house in their favorite beach community. Their youngest son, Michael, made that dream a reality when he and his wife Betty bought their first little beach cottage on 13th Street in 1992.

509 13th Street

We were thrilled to have our own beach house in O.C.! We didn’t care that there was no parking. We didn’t care that the surfboards were stored on the stairs or that you could be in the kitchen, living room, bedrooms and bathroom with in a few steps. Mom made it home! Beach goers would often stop and comment how lovely mom’s flower beds were.

1031 Wesley Avenue

When we realized we were outgrowing our little beach bungalow on 13th Street, mom and dad began looking for a bigger home for the family. As soon as mom saw 1031 Wesley Avenue, Built in 1905, she loved it! We went up on the porch to talk to the owners but no one was home. I remember peeking in the window with mom thinking, “Wow, look at all the space, it even has a dining room!” Mom was so disappointed when the house went under contract, but God was at work. Mom and Dad prayed for direction and always trusted God for His leading. Several weeks later it was back on the market and mom and dad knew God wanted to bless our family with this house!

Renovations in Progress, Photo’s coming soon!

Our family is a circle of strength, founded by FAITH, joined by LOVE, kept by GOD.
